The route takes the form of a northward trip, so please look at the route from the bottom. The so-called "Shogawa Dam Group" is full of dams that are worth seeing, but many of them do not allow access to the tops of the dams, making the coverage extremely difficult. Also, the roads to the dams off the national highway are narrow, so just getting to them is a challenge.
In particular, the prefectural road to the Ooshirakawa Dam is often closed due to falling rocks, and in the fall of 2003, there was an accident in which a person was left behind by a falling rock (no fatalities or injuries were reported...), so please be careful when visiting.
The time required is taken as a rough estimate, but it may vary considerably since it ignores the time spent in the area. Please consider it as a guide only.
