Location:right bank (shore)Takiwaki-cho, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, Japanleft bank (of a river)Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan
View of the levee from the downstream side of the left bank
It is relatively large for an erosion control dam and is even on the map. The location is difficult to explain. If you are coming from Toyota City, drive east on Route 301, turn right onto the city road leading to Takiwaki around Matsudaira, turn left at the T-junction, turn left at the first left turn, turn right at another T-junction, and go straight the rest of the way.
You can see them discharging down the levee.Whether this is a conduit gate or not is completely unclear. ...which means that the upper part is...emergency flood discharge? It's just a drain hole.

Other facilities/observations
It is not listed in the Japan Dam Association's dam handbook, so its embankment height is less than 15 meters, and it may be a weir rather than a dam.→Not listed because it is an erosion control dam.
The road on the left bank is narrow, so please be careful of the width of your car when parking on the street. Along Route 301, there is a place called "Takigawa Fureai Kobo" that serves gohei-mochi (gohei-mochi rice cakes) with medicinal herbs. It is such a relaxing place where everything is handmade and makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. At a table by the river, watching ducks and ducklings while tucking into gohei-mochi rice cakes and sashimi konnyaku, all your stresses will be gone.
