Location: Kuroda-cho, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture
View of the levee from downstream
First of all, the approach is very simple. If you are coming from the Nagoya area, turn right at the Odaki intersection on Route 153. The dam itself is very large and there are many points of interest, so it is best to take your time.
View of the dike from the left bank
Kuroda Dam generates power in the form of pumped storage power generation. This area consists of Kuroda Reservoir, which is filled by Kuroda Dam as the upper reservoir, Tominaga Regulating Reservoir, which is filled by Tominaga Dam as the middle reservoir, and Yahagi Reservoir (Okuyahagi Lake), which is filled by Yahagi First Dam, as the lower reservoir.

Traces of bulking up
I have visited this dam many times, but what I learned for the first time during this visit is that the current dam was built after the dam was raised. It is hard to see, but the area circled in red is the remains of the old dam embankment. The data of the old dam is also described in the following table, so please check the difference between the two.
Huge surge tank
This is a surge tank for pumped storage power generation. There are several such large tanks in the vicinity.
Stone monument regarding the conduit tunnel
There is apparently a conduit tunnel below this point.
Snake emergence!
Since it is a mountain, of course there are snakes.

Other facilities/observations
Even though everything is circled.It is a very deserted dam.The PR exhibition hall is called the "pumped storage power generation hall" located at the Odaki intersection, but few visitors come to see it.(Closed in 2005)
The embankment itself is also almost empty, so you can take your time to visit. I personally like this dam very much, and I always go there when I go for a drive to Inabu area, so if you see me, please say hello to me;
