View of the levee from downstream
If you go further upstream from the Yokosawa River No. 2 Dam, you will reach the Yokosawa River No. 1 Weir. The dam is not a dam under the River Act because its embankment is less than 15 meters high, but it is tucked away deep in the mountains, and its mossy appearance gives it a nice flavor.
View of water intake
Although the dam is owned by Chubu Electric Power Company, the gate was not so-called "Chuden Red" but rather "Kanden Black". This may be due to environmental considerations.
■Water intake screen specs
Channel width x screen length: 2.500m x 2.400m x 1 gate
Screen pitch: 100mm
Bar shape: FB-12 x 100
Weight (including receiving girder): 1.0t
Date of production: March 1991
Production:Yamaura Corporation
View of the right bank embankment from downstream
This wonderfully old-fashioned atmosphere! It combines indescribable style and elegance. The door panels are fitted except for the water intake, which was originally a gate, but no longer seems to be in use.
Close-up of embankment concrete surface
See? This moss!
By the way, the vertical and horizontal orientation was completely lost and may not be the correct direction (laughs).
Up at the gate
It has a stately appearance that should be described as solid and reassuring.
Looking downstream
The water flows downstream in torrents.
View of the levee from the downstream side of the right bank
I wonder if the door plate place was used as a flood discharge? I am a little excited to think so.
View of the top edge from the right bank
The top end looks as compact as the Yokosawa River No. 2 Dam.
View of the dam lake from the right bank
It does not look like a dam lake, but it is a dam lake. Even if there is sediment, it probably does not affect power generation in any way. This is a common sight at small dams dedicated to power generation.
View of the embankment on the lake side from the right bank
The upstream side was not clearly visible, so it is not clear what is going on.
View of the levee downstream from the right bank
The weir is less than 15m in length, and there are no detailed data such as specifications, which would normally make the property indigestible, but this is a weir that is tasteful enough just to look at. However, this is a weir that is interesting enough just by looking at it. We hope you will enjoy the real thing.
