After leaving the Yuda Dam, the group entered Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, and had lunch of Yokote yakisoba at the Akita Furusato Village. In addition, they enjoyed Kiritanpo (sliced pork dumplings).
After that, I went further north and unexpectedly saw a sign that said either "Ichijoki Dam" or "Ichijoki Reservoir" and made a hasty stop. I don't even remember if I saw the sign and decided to go there in the first place.
View of the upstream flood discharge from the bridge at the top end
As the name suggests, it is a "reservoir," so the flood discharge is of the type often seen.
View of downstream flood discharge
It is a huge grass. Cherry trees were planted around the pond, as if it were a cherry blossom viewing spot.
View of the levee downstream from the right bank
The grass is so thick that it is hard to believe that it is a dam.
View of the dam lake from the top
And the water level of the dam lake was quite low. Ichijoki Dam was built before the war, and farmers in the beneficiary area are said to produce "Akita Komachi.
View of the dam lake on the left bank from the top
It is difficult to see in this photo, but there is a sloping intake on the left bank near the levee.
Signs for the 100 best reservoirs and the new Mutsu-no-Hosomichi road
Ichijoki Reservoir, the dammed lake of Ichijoki Dam, has been selected as one of the 100 best reservoirs.
Signboard of "Ichijoki Reservoir, one of the 100 best reservoirs in Japan
It is a very splendid sign. The plaque for the 100 best dam lakes is quite impressive, but the fact that such a large and splendid sign is installed indicates that the reservoir is loved by the local people.
New Mutsu no Hosomichi signboard
It seems that the so-called nature trail is named the New Okunohosomichi.
one-tiered tree park
The surrounding area is maintained as Ichijoki Park, and there was a group camping there that day.
It was a simple earth dam, but it was a reservoir loved by the local people as one of the 100 best reservoirs in Japan.
