The following is a report from the Nunome Dam tour held in conjunction with the Nunome Lakeside Cycle Festa.

Please also refer to the article on Nunome Dam, which was first published.

1580-Nunome Dam
This is a multi-purpose dam under the jurisdiction of the Japan Water Agency, completed in 1992, with parks and other recreational facilities. Perhaps because it was as cold as winter, there were no visitors in spite of various improvements. I heard that black bass can be caught in the dam lake. I would like to bring a lure. I heard that it is also a marathon course and even better for road biking. / Gravity Concrete Dam / 72m

Nunome Lakeside Cycle Festa

Lots of road bikes and cyclists! Nunome Dam has become a venue for bicycle events as it was at one time the course of the Tour of Japan. I went there because a dam tour was to be held in conjunction with the Cycle Festa.

It is a beautiful audit corridor.

Another staircase. Perhaps because of its proximity to the dam lake, this one is damp.

Water pipelines from selective intake facilities

As you proceed down the audit corridor, you suddenly see this black object. It is a water pipeline from a selective intake facility.

hydroelectric power generation facility

There is a hydroelectric power generation facility in the immediate vicinity. The type of turbine is a horizontal-shaft single-wheel, single-flow volute Francis turbine, and it is said to generate up to 990KW of electricity.

Administrative hydropower results

The electricity generated here is used to manage the Nunome Dam, and the surplus power is sold, but it seems that most of the electricity is sold.

This is the discharge facility of the Nunome Dam. Unfortunately, the gates of the permanent flood discharge and the selective water intake system were not included in the tour, but I would like to see them if I have a chance.

Once inside the dike, you will go outside. This area is usually inaccessible, so it is a valuable agle.

Sub-dam for reduction works

This is a sub-dam for force reduction works. The Nunome Dam has a 14.5-meter-high dam upstream for sand storage, which also calls itself a sub-dam, which complicates things, but this is a sub-dam for force reduction.
