Off-line meeting/event report
This article can be read in about 4 minutes to read.

Mami Ofuhu

Mami-Ofu" is the name of the off-line meeting, which stands for "Mamari, Minna-minna, Maruyama, Shitamashimashita". Incidentally, the godfather is Abey-san of "Cat no Yugon" fame. As the name suggests, the idea was to relax and see the Maruyama Dam in Gifu together. This page is a report of the first day of the off-line meeting. This page reports on the first day of the off-line meeting from the viewpoint of the organizer.
We chose Maruyama Dam because it is representative of the Chubu region, and because it will disappear in the future with the construction of the new Maruyama Dam, so we wanted people who cannot easily visit this region to see it.

Oi Dam assembly at the beginning of the first day

Oi Dam

First of all, we were to meet at the Oi Dam at 1:00 p.m., but I left my house late, and since I had not refueled, I lost time due to congestion when I went to refuel.
Furthermore, we got stuck in traffic jams on the Chuo Expressway and Route 19, and had no choice but to drive on the old Nakasendo Road.
We managed to find time to visit, but almost at the last minute.

Participants already gathered

Several people had already arrived at the Oi Dam. I was the organizer of the event, but I was so late that people might have thought that I had a lot of misgivings about the future of the event.

To Agigawa Dam

Agi River Dam - from downstream

Then we went to the Agigawa Dam. We gathered at a parking lot near the top of the dam and split up into several cars to approach from downstream. However, the road leading downstream was difficult to find from the national highway, and several of us got lost. We thought that since everyone was familiar with the dam, they would be able to find the way downstream by intuition and smell, but as expected, it was difficult to find. In fact, some of them were going to go to the left bank.

Agigawa Dam, tour of the top of the dam

After visiting the downstream side, we returned to the parking lot near the top of the dam and went to the Agigawa Dam Museum. However, something was different. It seemed to have been recently renovated, and its appearance had changed considerably from when I first came here a long time ago. It is true that the contents were old, but there were also various exhibits that are no longer there. I think the model of the selective water intake system is gone. I think it was broken to begin with, but.... I was also surprised to see a proper reception desk. There is also a receptionist. They seem to be putting a lot of effort into PR. After that, we headed to the top of the mountain. When we arrived at the top of the dam, the wind started to pick up and thunder started to sound, and we had a feeling that it was going to rain heavily.

To the Kori River Dam

Visiting the Kosato River Dam and downstream

The next stop was the Kori River Dam. During the trip, it finally started raining heavily, which made the trip a bit difficult. However, by the time we arrived at the Kosatogawa Dam, it began to drizzle and finally stopped raining. At the Ozato River Dam, we visited the terrace, downstream, an exhibition hall, and a roadside station.
I think we were able to get quite mellow at the Kosato River Dam.
Generator and waterwheel at the former Kori River No. 3 Power Plant

The generator and waterwheel of the former Kosatogawa No. 3 Power Plant are on display at the Roadside Station "Grandma's Market Yamaoka. Everyone is looking at them intently.
The centerpiece of this roadside station is a water wheel so large that it is claimed to be the largest in Japan! No matter how many times you see it, it is still huge.

Weir party at Kiraku Tajimi restaurant

Kiraku Tajimi Store

After that, we moved to the accommodation we had prepared for you in Tajimi City and checked in once. Then, we will go to Kiraku Tajimi restaurant near the accommodation.weir association(banquet). I really wanted to do a "dam version" of "Kokkyo Tozai" to liven things up, but there was no need, and we had a good time talking about dams, work, and personal life.

Banquet 1

The only thing I failed to do was to introduce myself here, which I should have done at the Oi Dam. It was too late.
I also noticed after entering the restaurant room that the tables that had been set up were in two places.... I wanted all the participants to be able to sit together, but we were split into two groups, and it was like, what the heck. But we moved around and naturally everyone was sitting at one table at the end.

Sake Banquet 2

Everyone is getting drunk in a good way. I don't drink (or can't drink), so I envied them.
Again, there were many things to reflect on, but we who organized the event had a lot of fun.

Fireworks display on the banks of the Toki River!

After the weir meeting, we had a fireworks display on the banks of the Toki River. Some people were a little out of control, but it was a pretty exciting party as well. I hope Mr. S's wife was all right. She seems to be sorry for what she did, so please give her a break.
Ha! I was so engrossed in the fireworks myself that I didn't take any pictures of the fireworks! I regret this too...

That concludes Day 1! The next page will show you the second day.
