Reading: Conduit
Also known as: Water Discharge Pipes / Conduit Tubes
A conduit is a pipe installed for flood control and downstream discharge. A hole in the bottom of a dam is sometimes collectively called a conduit. The original meaning of the word "conduit" is "conduit," and it is so called because it is installed through the embankment.
The conduit is also equipped with a gate, which is called a conduit gate. The conduit gate is used as a normal flood discharge during relatively normal discharge. The Three Gorges Dam in China, one of the largest dams in the world, has a conduit gate 483 m long.

The central blue shaft is a hydraulic cylinder, and most dam conduit gates are hydraulic sliding or radial gates. In recent years, tensile radial gates are increasingly being used.
