I went to Gifu City on business and saw the robot sluice gate in my spare time. Before that, I parked my car at the Gifu Park Outside Levee Parking Lot No. 1 (just the name of this parking lot is enough to make me giggle) and went to the entrance of Gifu Park.

Under excavation
From the ropeway station at the top of the mountain, we headed for Gifu Castle, but on the way there we found an excavation.

I arrived at Gifu Castle. The white castle stands out against the blue sky.

In Bratamori, Tamori-san often expresses that "the river plods on the plain," and I can understand that.

The kids wanted to come, so...

Well, what the heck, I play with squirrels too.
Land locks like that.
There is a land lock like this near the robotic sluice gate. There was a nameplate like a dam gate.

Upstream face of robotic sluice gate
Sorry for the long delay. This is a robot sluice gate. To be precise, it is called "Chubushi Irrigation Diversion Sluice Gate" and was installed to control the amount of water taken from the Nagara River to the Chubushi Irrigation Canal, which flows through Gifu City.

It has been featured on TV programs such as "Let's Look at Japan from the Sky" and "Nanikore Chin Hyakkei," and I have tried several times to go see it, but have been too close to it to do so. But when I saw it in person, I found it to be more cute than cool.

It's still a fanny face even if it's agitated and photographed from below.

Looking downstream
The entire area around the park is maintained as a water park, but water was flowing like a waterfall on the right bank.
When you visit Gifu City, why don't you set a visit to Gifu Park or Mt. Kinkasan and admire the robot water gate?
