View of the monument and embankment from the right bank of the dam
Sudden New Year's Day 2003dam tourThe fifth installment in the "Mere Old Man" series is the Nagawa Watershed Dam.
I am the eldest of the three Azusa River brothers. Being the eldest, it is the largest and has the most extensive facilities. From the Mizudono Dam, you can go further upstream along Route 158 on the Azusa River. There are many tunnels in this area, and unusually, there is a branch in the tunnel. However, there are signs so you can get there without getting lost.
View of the embankment from the lake side of the right bank
However, for some reason, we have not been able to cover much this time. We covered only from the right bank of the river. There is an exhibition hall "Azusa River Tempco Museum" nearby, but it was closed for the New Year's vacation, so we could not cover there. The Azusa River Tempco Museum also holds tours from time to time, so please be careful of the closing days if you visit the museum for that purpose.
View of the levee from the downstream side of the right bank
It was extremely difficult to photograph. Not only was it difficult to capture the entire scene, but the road surface was icy and I slipped many times. I had to be very careful not to drop my camera.
As expected of the eldest, he is the largest of the three brothers. Directly below is the Ajimu Power Plant. If you participate in the tour, you will not only be able to see the levee from directly below, but you will also be able to tour the inside of the power plant. It is a pity that I could not make it this time....
