Oigawa Dam was covered after the end of the "3rd Dam Web Ring Playboy Off-line Meeting - Goro-chan's Stomach Exploration Tour. We were unable to cover the Oigawa Dam during our previous coverage of the Oigawa River system, but thanks to our customers and the participants of the off-line meeting, we were able to take pictures of the dam. It was already late in the evening when the off-line meeting ended, and I thought it would be extremely difficult to take pictures as it was quite dark.
I wanted to take angles from other angles, but as mentioned above, it was dark, so I had no choice but to take only this one shot.

Access to D@M | Get off at Sagara Makinohara IC of Tomei Expressway The rest of the way is National Route 473 heading north toward Kawane Town. After entering Kawane Town and eating taiyaki at Ieyama, head north again on Route 473. After driving for a while, you will hit a T intersection with Route 362, turn right at the intersection and go north on Route 362. There is a road that enters Prefectural Route 77 near Chigashira, so turn onto that road and continue north. When you pass the Okuizumi station of the Igawa line, there is a fork of the Sunmatakyo and the Precipice, so take it to the right toward the Precipice (Prefectural road 388). Pass through two tunnels to the right bank of Nagashima Dam, but just before that, there is a road to the left. (A signboard for the "Oigawa Dam Management Office" is located at the road entrance.) If you pass through the road like a forest road, you will see the railroad crossing of Minami-Alps Aputo-Line in the way of Oigawa. There are also suspension bridges (open to regular vehicles), and once you cross each of these bridges, you are already on your way! |
Other facilities/observations
Here, I happened to meet a driver who was a customer of one of the sites, making this dam somewhat of a strong emotional attachment.
Incidentally, according to the operator, the gate of this dam is a little unusual gate called a rolling gate, but when the gate is opened, it does not rotate as the name implies, but rises as it is.
