Ichiko Dam Parking Lot

This is the first dam in Hyogo Prefecture on this site. We stopped by during our trip to Kobe and Arima Onsen. It was a hot day, but unusually clear and blue sky.

By the way, "Hitokura" is written as "Ichiko". It is a rather difficult-to-read dam. At first, I mistakenly read it as "ikko dam" (laugh).

I think it was close to dusk. I was a bit worried about the distance from Arima Onsen, but I managed to make it in time for dusk.

The parking lot and the administration office at the dam site are next to each other, and there was a tank like this by the administration office. The name of the tank is "Amamizu," which means "water from the heavens. In other words, rain is a blessing. The management office clearly conveys the wish that people will take good care of water.

This is an opulent brick-tiled control center. The tank mentioned earlier is located on the right side.

It is a top edge, but why it was not cut more to the right is now a mystery to me. It is now a mystery why the top edge was not cut more to the right.

Every time, I am unable to capture a situation such as "a stone monument and a dam lake" or "a stone monument and an embankment" in my photography. I take only pictures of stone monuments, which makes me look unrefined.

The sky is so blue it's a lie! It seems as if the concrete is reflected in the sky.

I would have written "toiwa" in kanji (Chinese characters) "forever," but the secret is to write it in hiragana.

Still, it is truly sky blue. Maybe this kind of appearance suits the Ichiko-Dam. But I am sure it will be very active on a day of heavy rain.

Right bank incline

Right bank incline

An incline has been installed on the right bank, and the second floor is an observation deck.

I went up to the observation deck. The one on the right is probably surface aeration, and the one a little to the left from it is probably deep aeration facilities.

The embankment can be seen from downstream. The sub-dam seems to be high. Incidentally, this image has been used as wallpaper on my PC for a long time.

Downstream

Downstream

I wanted to get a flowing shot, but this was the best I could do. There was a bird downstream that I thought was a cormorant, but I am not familiar with birds, so it might have been a heron.

Further downstream

Further downstream. Over there is the "Kyoto-style crab restaurant, Kani-Kobo Kawanishi-Itsuko. I would have liked to eat crab dishes near the dam, but it looked expensive, so I gave it up.
