It's quite a nice atmosphere in the photo as we enter the magic hour, but I wonder how it's going to look like from a dam encyclopedia perspective, lol.
Now, proceed through the Hinogawa Waki Dam (3601-Hinogawa Waki Dam/Hinogawa Waki Dam) as an earth dam to the Hinogawa Dam as a rock-fill dam.

The part of the dam shown in the photo as the subject is the Hino River Dam. The gate is on the left, the control center is in the middle, and the main body of rockfill is on the right.

Incidentally, a spatula fisherman enjoys fishing for spatulas in the lower right corner of this photo.

Perhaps because it is directly connected to the side dam as an earth dam, it honestly does not feel like rockfill.

Grounding.impermeable wallIt does not look like an upstream surface.

The downstream side also appears to be grounded only.
Although classified as a rock-fill dam, it is actually a gravel fill dam (more precisely, a central-core gravel fill dam), which is made of gravel rather than larger stones like a rock-fill dam.

It is a cozy and lovely flood discharge.

The Hinogawa Dam area is a park, and as shown in this guide map, there are plazas and forests around the dam lake.

The management office looks like a school building. At the entrance, there was a sign about a dam card, so I rang the intercom and received a dam card.

Continue to the flood discharge. The flood discharge of the Hino River Dam has two 7.10m high x 7.75m wide roller gates.

I am not quite sure about the junction between the grounding and locking sections, but the area around the islet pictured on the right appears to be the dividing line.

The Hino River side dam can be seen on the opposite bank.

Perhaps because there is almost no drop off from the gate, the reduction block is placed rather than a reduction work.

The Hino River Dam seems to have both an emergency flood discharge and a normal flood discharge. Can you see the hole at the bottom of the roller gate?

The hole at the bottom of this roller gate appears to be a jet flow gate with a 670 x 660 mm built-in gate (gate-in-gate) for discharge of irrigation water.

The Hinogawa Dam is one of the smallest dams in Shiga Prefecture, and because of its small flood control capacity, it is unable to store water for flooding when the inflow into the dam lake is 160 t/s or less, so flood control using the constant discharge method is used.

The dam is not only loved by the local people as a place for recreation such as fishing and walking, but also works well despite its small size...such is the image of the dam.
