[Flash Report] Japan Dam Awards 2020 Results Announced!

The "Japan Dam Awards 2020" were held on Saturday, December 26 at Tokyo Culture Culture in Shibuya, where the awards for discharge, low water management, event, flood control, and dam grand prix were announced.

This is the second time the event was awarded, following the 2013 event award.

Flood Control Award
(Which dam has had the most impressive battles with heavy rains?)

Songwon Dam and Shimosen Dam(Oita Prefecture, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism)
The Shimosenda Dam suffered a power outage at the dam management branch office, landline & cellular phone outages, and CATV reception was disrupted. In addition, the long-term flood control with a small number of personnel was a decisive factor.
