On this day, I went to Wakayama Prefecture for the first time after hearing that the Kirimegawa Dam under construction had reached its surcharge level and would be releasing (overflowing) water. This is the route I took when I toured the dam on that occasion.
The area produces mandarin oranges and plums, so I stop at roadside stations along the way to buy souvenirs related to these products.
If you plan to climb the two observation decks at Tsubakiyama Dam and stop at the Yaho Point, it would be safer to allow two hours for the tour. There is also an observation deck at the Kirimegawa Dam, and the Shimanose Dam, although small in size, has many attractions, so we recommend that you allow more time.
