Okutadami Power Station (0500-Okutadami Dam), Tagokura Power Station, and Miborodamu Power Station (1095-Miborodamu Dam), large-scale hydroelectric power generation facilities operated by J-POWER (Japan Power Development Corporation), are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.
To commemorate this event, the "50th Anniversary of Large-Scale Hydroelectric Power Generation" exhibition will be held tomorrow, February 14, 2011 (Monday), in the first floor lobby of J-POWER headquarters.
The event will also include the Sakuma Power Station (1160-Sakuma Dam), which was a big project when Denryoku Kaihatsu was founded, and will look back on the 50-year history of J-POWER's hydroelectric power generation, as well as consider hydroelectric power generation in the next 50 years.
Also, the first 100 visitors who come to the exhibition and answer a questionnaire during the period will receive an original J-POWER postcard every day.
The period is from Monday, February 14, 2011 to Friday, February 25, 2011, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (except Saturdays and Sundays, when the museum is closed). The location is the 1F lobby of the main J-POWER store in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
