Originally, I would like to write a report on a gathering with dam enthusiasts and a bus tour of dams, but something interesting happened the other day, and I would like to expose it, including a reminder.
First, on the afternoon of November 17, during a bus tour of dams, I suddenly received a friend request from a foreigner on Facebook. The photo showed a strangely aged woman. Moreover, she was apparently a nurse in the Syrian city of Damascus. Speaking of Syria, you are probably fresh in your mind. It is where journalist Junpei Yasuda was recently safely returned to Japan after several years of captivity. The country is in a pretty bad situation due to the civil war.
The woman's name is Karim Amir.
I immediately approved her as a friend. But I did not approve her because she was a foreign exotic woman, or because she had big boobs, or any such ulterior motive.
In fact, a few months ago, I also received a friend request from the CEO of a bank in Dubai. I looked up the bank and found that there was indeed a CEO with that name. I thought to myself, "There is no way such a person would send me a friend request," and after exchanging messages several times on Messenger, one day I suddenly received a message asking me to send an e-mail and to provide my address.
The following is a bit more than a few, but I have exposed some of the exchanges on Twitter. I knew it was a scam when I received the friend request on Facebook, so I am thorough in just playing along, including exposing it on Twitter.
Contents.
- A board member of his company was killed in the Sumatra earthquake.
- Since there are no heirs, other board members are targeting its assets.
- I would like to divide and transfer assets because I have seen me with the same last name as the deceased officer and have determined that I am a relative.
- I would like to know your e-mail address so that we can communicate with you.
- This is business.
The content was as follows.
It was too subtle to give them my email address, so I led them to send it to me through the Damapedia contact form. However, the email address I was given was not correct when it was Gmail in the first place, so when I pursued the matter in depth, he eventually blocked me and we were no longer able to communicate. (For some reason, the block was lifted a short time later, and communication resumed for a little while.)
I also directed him to the Dhampedia contact form because I wanted to extract his IP address, etc., in case he was not able to get to the site. Then, he fell for it and we found out that he was accessing from Lagos, Nigeria, not Dubai. (He could have used a proxy server to spoof his IP address, but he seems dumb and probably doesn't have that much skill)
I was getting tired of it by now, so I reported it to Facebook and the exchange ended. Furthermore, Facebook gave me a Spam or something, and I was banned and completely terminated.
Let me preface this by saying that because of that background, I somehow know that this Syrian beauty is absolutely a scam as well. However, there may be a case that she simply wanted to make friends, so I will explore this a little at first.
15:13 (Sat)
Hello , it is nice to meet you . How are you doing ?
18:33 (Sat)
Nice to meet you. Thank you for your application. My energy is so-so.
They are harassing me from the very beginning by replying in Japanese when they are speaking to me in English. Moreover, "Genki wa so-so" is not a line you would normally say to someone you have just met online.
20:49 (Sat)
You're welcome. Dear . I am Karim from Damascus Syria. Are you from Japan?
Yes. Japan's Takeshima. Syria is where Japanese citizen Junpei Yasuda was captured, isn't it? Isn't it hard because of the civil war?
I lied about my location because I didn't think it was necessary to tell someone I met for the first time where I was. But, well, Takeshima is Japanese territory, so there is no problem. And to begin with, the other person's "a woman named Karim in Damascus, Syria" may all be a lie.
I am writing to you with the help of Google translator
Dr. Google is great.
I don't know if they think I'm a pain in the ass, or if they are just guessing that the Japanese will sound strange, but they go out of their way to say things that I know. However, I dare not go through the trouble and praise Google's translation technology.
Incidentally, I have tried to keep my Japanese as neat as possible in our correspondence, because I think Google's translation accuracy will be compromised if my writing style is too broken. This may make some parts of my writing seem strange to you.
Thank you for your concern and for taking care of me The ongoing war here has made life difficult and unfair for me. Innocent people have been killed here. I live in a refugee camp because of the situation and my safety
Tangentially heavy talk.
Yes, the news reports have brought that situation to light, but only on the surface. It sounds like a tough situation.
I lost my parents as a result of the ongoing war here. The war here made me an orphan. I never thought at my age. The situation here is very terribly bad. Tell us about you and your country
Japan is not crime-free, but it has been an extremely peaceful country since the war ended in 1945. Compared to Japan and Syria, it may be heaven and hell.
Wish my country can stop war and be peaceful like your country. I live in pain and fear every day.
For some reason, like DAIGO, you say "wish," which I think means "wish," so I hope that "my country will stop war and become a peaceful entity like yours." I think it means "I want my country to stop war and become peaceful like your country.
I sincerely hope that peace will come soon.
That is also my prayer. Life here is dangerous and unfair, my life is no longer safe. What are you doing now?
Is there any way to escape out of the country? I am in front of the computer now.
If you ask me what I'm doing, I'm communicating with you on Messenger.
OK . Dear . It is difficult and expensive to escape safely from this terrible thing. That is why I am still staying in this terrible place . Please try to escape from the valley of this terrible place lost in life !
with all one's life
Dracula of the Tang Dynasty.
Many people have lost their lives trying to leave this awful place. Getting away safely from this terrible thing through the border is difficult and expensive. That is why I still remain in this awful place.
By "border," I assume you probably mean "national border." In other words, you are killed when you pass through the border. It is still a heavy story. I sometimes wondered if he really just wanted a friend in this area, since it is not about unrealistic money like the CEO of the Dubai bank.
Even if you do escape, it's hard because you need money. But you can't escape because you don't have money. I understand.
Yes, I will be happy to leave this horrible place. But I have no money.
They say, "I don't have any money," but there is never any mention of "please give me money" or "transfer me money."
We hope you will get your money and happiness.
Thank you for your concern.
0:25 (Sun)
Sorry for the late reply. What are you doing now?
Now I was watching the anime "Sword Art Online" on TV. Do you understand?
Don't worry about the time.
...I didn't get a reply here. The sadness of dropping a great story and not being able to go through with it.
15:23 (Sun)
Good morning . Dear . Thank you for your concern and taking care of me How are you?
Good morning. I am staying at home today. I am going out for shopping now. It is an average and peaceful day for Japanese people.
23:54 (Sun)
By the way, why is Miss Karim sending me, a Japanese whom I have never met in person, friend requests and messages? Do you have a purpose?
I took the plunge and asked. Even though I would never say that fraud was my goal, I wanted to see the response.
18:05 (Mon.)
Good morning . Dear . Facebook suggested you to me and I decided to send you a friend request I hope you are not angry. Dear . What did you buy?
Hohoho. Do you feel like you are angry? Is it a backhanded or mistranslation of the perceived doubt?
20:55 (Mon.)
I am never angry. Please don't worry. I was just curious because it was very unusual for you, a foreigner, to make a friend request to me.
I had gone to the supermarket to buy food.
Why are you worried . Dear ? How many foreigners have applied for friendship with you? What is the name of the food you bought ?
Very few foreigners send me friend requests. However, the other day I received an application from a scammer who claimed to be the CEO of a Dubai bank. This made me a little skeptical. Sorry. What I bought at the supermarket was vegetables, ice cream and juice.
Again, I dare to bring up the CEO of a Dubai bank to see how he reacts.
I'm sorry . Dear . I'm not that kind of person. How is your wife? And how are your children today?
Well, that's what I'd have to say.
I'm sorry too. My wife is fine. The kids went to school as usual and are now doing their homework. It is now 22:47 in Japan.
It is good . Dear . There is night . You need to sleep and rest
The strange thing is that they don't chase us much. They are worried that we are replying late at night, and they are kind enough to terminate our communication for the day. However, we later realize that they are pretending to do so.
I usually go to bed after midnight. Even later, it is around 2 o'clock. Japanese people basically sleep very little. What time is it in Syria?
The time here is 04:06 PM.
I checked the time difference between Syria and the time you told me and it is correct. I wonder if I am really in Syria... but you can always fake the time if you have a world clock. And you don't even have to calculate the time difference, you can check it instantly with your smartphone or PC.
Have you finished your work today? Can you send me a picture of Damascus or of you as you are now?
I am not sure if there is work in Syria during the civil war, but I was not trying to be coy and just asked him normally if he had finished his work. However, he said, "Send me a picture," and I tell him this in the hope that if Mr. Karim is really in Damascus, Syria, he will send me a current picture.
Thank you for your concern and taking care of me I no longer work for the war and for my safety
You can't even work, can you? I hope the war will be over soon and a peaceful world will come.
That's right, I thought, but her Facebook user information confirms that she is a nurse by profession. I believe that nurses work even during wartime, but I didn't pursue it too deeply here.
I dont have a cell phone. I lost my phone I was running for my life . I only use my dead father's computer for my safety in the refugee camp. I have some of my pictures on my dead fathers computer
That is my prayer. Because I live in pain and fear every day. Innocent people are killed here every day.
It seems to be in response to my throwing out the question, "Can you send me a picture?" I see. It is quite a true story.
That must have been another tough time for you. I understand that you can't even have a cell phone. I am also shocked to hear that you lost your father as well. You are really living in a war. Please be sure to survive. I am waiting for a peaceful day when I can meet you one day. Can I send that picture of you to commemorate meeting you through Facebook?
Thanks for my concern and kindness I lost my mother and father because of the war here I am the only child of my parents and the only one alive in my family I hope to meet you one day
It is too painful to lose your parents in the war. It is unthinkable in today's Japan. Also, if I had not met you like this, I would never have thought about the war. I really wish for an early end to the war. What is life like in a refugee camp? Isn't it extremely inconvenient?
That is also my prayer. Life is pretty difficult and unfair in the refugee camps, living here is like living in hell.
This is a picture of me and my pets
Photo kita ━━━━ Holy shit ━━━━!!!!
However, it later turns out that if you run a Google image search on this photo, it will show "Best guess result for this image: romance scam". Romance Fraud...
I see that life in the refugee camps is also very difficult. Thank you for the photos. They are pictures of peaceful times, aren't they? Your dog is cute. You are beautiful too.
Thanks for your wonderful tribute.
I really appreciate it. But what matters most to me now is my life.
Yes, I am interested in the future of Miss Karim's life. What is the future of Miss Karim's life? I think it is important too.
This is the most important thing for me right now. Because my life is no longer safe here anymore. I do not want to be killed in your awful place.
I would love to see you escape to Japan. But you don't have the funds to escape, do you?
I am glad to leave this terrible place to your peaceful country . But I do not have the funds to escape from this terrible place and if I leave this dangerous place I have no place to go
In the news broadcast in Japan, I heard that most of the Syrian refugees have fled to Europe. It's hard to escape alone without funds, isn't it? Oh, I really hope they are alive.
Many Syrians go to Europe, but it is difficult. Most of them are killed on their way out of the border, but there are organizations that help refugees leave Syria safely. It is difficult and requires funding
I do not want to risk my life trying to leave the borders. I am the only one living in my family . I do not want my family genealogy to come to an end
So you are left with no choice but to stay inside Syria and survive? Surely you must survive. Your parents left you a life. And you cannot let your family line, which has been in existence for generations, die out.
I don't want the family genealogy to come to an end," probably a strategy to get the other man to say, "That's a big deal; I don't want you to have children with me." Let's have a baby with me" is probably a strategy to make the other guy say, "That's a lot of work. I sense this and simply parrot or tell him "live" or at least "I miss you".
I no longer want to be here. My life is no longer safe.
What part of Syria is the refugee camp now? How are the computers powered?
In the middle of our exchange, I asked, "Speaking of which, how do you power your computer?" I was curious, so I throw in a question.
I want to leave this awful place but I don't have enough money and place to stay
Oh, I don't know what to do...
I can turn on my dead fathers computer from a military base in camp . Life is very difficult and unfair here !
I see. So it was a military base. Where in Syria would it be? How exactly is it unfair?
By the way, is it possible to have a refugee camp and a military base in the same place?
If you could help me and leave this awful place a peaceful place . I will be grateful I am willing to come to Japan
I would like to help you. But you don't have the funds to flee the country, do you?
This is a totally unrelated request, but can you access this URL? https://dampedia.com
Tangentially, I'll direct you to Dampedia. And instantly check the real-time report of Google Analytics. To my surprise, it was from Lagos, Nigeria, the same city as the CEO of the Dubai bank. Well, the world is a small place, isn't it?
I live in Damascus Syrian refugee camp. Very close Homs
It would be great if you could help me leave this horrible place. I can visit the camp officials . Ask them the best way to leave here safely.
I checked Homs on the map. I am curious what kind of city it is. Japan is a peaceful country. I am sure there are other peaceful countries, but if you come to Japan, I can help you in some way mentally. I want you to escape safely so that the rest of your life can be a good one. But please don't take it too hard.
Thank you for your concern and taking care of me Wish it is easy to escape from this horrible place. Please help me if you can.
How do you escape? I can only send you a message like this now, but I think I can help you when you come to Japan.
Thank you for my concern and kindness.
You need to sleep and get some rest
Yes, I am. It is time for me to go to bed. But talking with you seems like a very precious time to me.
You too. Dear. Good night, sweet dreams. See you tomorrow.
Good night. Please continue to live tomorrow.
😢
15:34 (Tue)
Good morning . Dear . I'm just waking up now . How are you?
Good morning. It is 8:37 in the morning there. It is 3:37 pm here. I am working at the office now.
OK . Dear . Please write to me when you are free . Take care and look after yourself.
Speaking of which, every time it has "dear" attached to it, I wonder what it says in the original language. Also, I think "take care of you" is also a mistranslation, but I guess it's something like "take care of yourself".
I am a ●● at the company, so I am free to take charge of my work in my own way, which is fine. I may not be able to reply when I am busy, but I am not that busy today, so I am fine.
I know what you mean . Dear . Did you eat lunch?
I did eat. My wife always makes me a lunch box, so I ate it.
While showing that he has a wife.overwhelmingI pretend that I don't.
Did she bring it to you at your place of work? It seems your house is not far from your place of work.
I have my lunch box made at home and packed in a box, and I bring it to work myself. It takes less than an hour to walk and take the train from home to work.
It's ok . Dear . What does your work consist of?
We are in the business of making ●●●. Some of the ●●● in the ●● are developed by our company.
21:44 (Tue)
OK . Dear . Are you at home now ? You look tired and may be sleeping
Good night and good dreams
She(?) I guess it is her (?) own way of being considerate.
Good evening. I just finished work. I am going home by train.
I just got home now.
15:17 (Wed)
Good morning . Dear . I am sorry that I did not reply to your message yesterday . I went looking for food before things got more dark and dangerous here. How are you doing?
I assume you are at work right now. Take care and look after yourself. Write to me when you are released from work or get home have a good day
Good morning, I'm sorry I didn't get a reply to my email yesterday. I didn't get a reply yesterday, so I was a bit sad to hear from you. Also, thank you for your concern about my being at work. But please don't worry about it and contact me if you need anything.
18:37 (Wed)
You're welcome. Dear . I think now is evening in your country. Have you eaten dinner? Have you closed today's work?
I haven't finished work yet, so I haven't had dinner yet. What do you usually spend your time doing?
OK . Dear . I am in my tent thinking about my life and future
Are your friends or loved ones in the refugee camp?
I do not make friends here for my safety in the refugee camp. I only have 2 female friends Larisa and Miram, Larisa escaped to Singapore with the help of her uncle. I have no girlfriend due to my situation here
Hmmm. Declaration of no girlfriend, huh? I guess this is also a strategy.
Why don't you make friends to be safe? So the only friend you have around you is Miss Miram? Don't you feel lonely?
I do not want to expose myself. Internet is not allowed in refugee camps. Yes, it is near MIRAM. I always feel lonely here. Life is difficult and unfair here.
Mysteriously, the friend request is on Facebook, and he sends me a message on Messenger, but he says he is not allowed to be online. Well, that's a lie.
Are you being monitored not to go online?
I just finished work. I am going home by train.
Yes . Dear . I am writing to you only when I am in my tent. Take care and look after yourself. Write to me when you go home.
The message makes me feel like he is strangely avoiding me. Maybe I have found a better sucker elsewhere.
I have a smart phone so I can send messages while on the move. How do you turn on your computer?
It's ok . Dear . Wish I have a smart phone or iphone . I can turn on my dead fathers computer from the military base in the camp .
You once said "I don't have a cell phone" and now you're ripping me off! but if you read carefully, you will see the word "WISH" at the beginning, so he is saying "I want to have a smart phone or iPhone".
You are sending a message from your late father's computer.
Yes . Dear .
What happened today?
No . Dear . It is very difficult to eat food here. I will go out to find food after writing with you.
What do you eat when you have food?
It's hard to find food...
This is the type of food I eat Sayadiyeh and Yakanit Batata
Sayadiyeh" is "Sayadiyeh" which is Syrian cooked rice. It seems to be both a Syrian and a Lebanese dish. I can't find "Yakanit Batata" by Googling.
I don't know Syrian food, so I can't even imagine what it is like. I wish I had a picture...but I can't. Does it taste good?
I do not have pictures of the food. However it is good and tasty food. I hope to prepare it for you someday. You will enjoy the food
I would love to try it. If there is a Syrian restaurant in Japan, I will try to mention it.
Can you tell me more about Syria? Can you tell me a lot about the situation in Syria today, Syria when it was peaceful, scenic places, etc.?
I am going to take a bath now, so my reply may be delayed.
It is a very tasty dish. Syria was a beautiful and peaceful country before the sudden war that turned it into a horrible place for human beings to live. Many beautiful places such as the citadel of Aleppo, the Roman theater of Bosra. Befor the war started for tourists to visit Syria at the moment it is very dangerous to live here. Because innocent people are being killed here every day. Women are also raped here.
Aleppo is one of the most beautiful cities in the world before the war started
Aleppo is one of the places I have heard its name on the news. I hope that when the war is over it will return to the beautiful country it was. I can't believe that women are in danger...is Miss Karim ok?
Why do you think so? Why do I always say it is safe to suffer pain and fear
Suddenly, I got an angry reply. Probably a mistranslation, but oh well, it's all part of the act.
Perhaps I am translating it wrong. They want Syria to return to the peaceful Syria it was before the war started. I am also concerned about Miss Karim because I have learned that women are being victimized.
I know what you mean . Dear . Thank you for your concern and taking care of me have you ever left your country before
Thanks for understanding. I have been to Frankfurt, Germany, Paris, France, New York and Florida in the US, and Singapore. But I haven't left the country for about 15 years now. I would like to visit Syria if it were peaceful.
You're welcome. Dear . I will be very glad . To meet you . It seems that you like to travel . Do you travel for business or vacation?
I travel often, mostly within Japan.
OK . Dear . Can I ask you a question?
Yes, please.
What do you do on weekends?
When I go out, I often go to the dam. Do you know what a dam is? I am a dam enthusiast. Last week I was invited to a bus tour of dams and the organizer asked me to be an attendant. It ended up being a job 😓.
I am being extremely truthful (smug).
It's ok . Dear . Can I ask you another question?
And yet Karim is indifferent.
Yes, please.
What is your favorite food?
I like Japanese pears, among many other things.
I know what you mean . Dear . I'm sorry . I must try to find food before it gets too dark and dangerous!
Ah, yes. I hope you find your food safely. Take care.
😢
↑upThis pictogram was also added by Karim, who calls himself Karim, in response to my message.
Must go now .
Yes, I am. Take care.
Thanks for your prayers. You need to sleep Good night, good dreams
I will probably stay up until about 2:00 again, so if Miss Karim has time, I will be waiting for your message.
OK . Dear . I take care of you.
Yes, I am waiting.
14:51
Good morning . Dear . I'm just waking up now . How are you? I think you are at work now. Take care of yourself!
Write to me when you are free have a good day .
Good morning, Miss Karim. Miss Karim. how is the situation there? I can generally reply anytime, so please contact me if you need anything.
The situation here is very dangerous and frightening but I thank God for life
May I ask one question?
In Japan, it is unthinkable that I would be safe when I wake up in the morning, but I feel happy to be able to exchange messages with Miss Karim in this way. Please feel free to ask questions.
Thank you for your concern and taking care of me please do not be offended. With my question can I trust you?
I don't know what your intention is with this question, but I'll try to be serious here so as not to arouse suspicion.
If we were able to meet each other in person, we would be able to trust each other, but I believe that it is easy to lie on a Messenger app. But I believe that we can learn to trust each other by continuing to communicate and asking each other questions. Also, if possible, I would like you to send me photos of you and the current landscape of your surroundings. I asked you to do so initially before because I wanted to trust you. If other calls are possible, I would like to make a call or video call as well, although I do not speak English or Arabic.
Thank you for giving me your trust . I am glad to talk to you on the phone but my dead fathers computer does not have a camera there are things that are important to my family. I would like to talk to you because of my situation and the trust I have in you but I am concerned
Is there something you have a hard time saying?
It is a little difficult but i feel safe with you. But are there any Syrians living in your area?
Unfortunately, there are no Syrians close to me.
Is it bad to have Syrians around?
OK . Dear . Please promise not to discuss with others. I have not shared it with others before but I want to discuss with you because I trust and feel safe with you
Yes, I understand. I understand. I will not tell or tell anyone else what I hear from you.
veryOpen to the whole worldI do, though.
Thank you for your promise. I would like to send using your email address, but it takes time to compose a message. I will also exchange emails with you
That's it! I've been trying to get an email address after all! The situation is similar to what happened with the CEO of the Dubai bank.
Are you saying that you want to communicate using email instead of Messenger?
I would like to send a message from your e-mail address. Do you understand?
Why does it have to be by email?
They bite down.
It will take some time to compose the message and we would like to send it to your email address when done!
This is a painful explanation. It shouldn't make any difference whether it's Messenger or mailer that makes the text. And like the CEO of the Dubai bank, why would they make us try to communicate with them via email?
You seem to be busy I have to go to get water now. Write to me through my email address ●●●●●●●@gmail.com
Sorry for the late reply.
Then, please send us the information using the form on this web page.
https://dampedia.com/contact
19:26
Your contact did not respond to the video chat from you.
I try to contact them via video chat. Unfortunately, he did not answer. I thought that even if they did answer the phone, I would talk to them no matter what country they were from, but unfortunately, that plan did not come true.
As I told you. I only have access to Facebook.
I'm sorry. I hit the videophone button by mistake. Never mind.
It was a pain in the ass, so I decided to make a mistake.
I'm sorry. Dear . I did not see the video. Did you eat dinner? What are you doing now?
When you say "only access Facebook," do you mean that you don't access the web page?
Since I have a medical checkup tomorrow, I decided to finish work early today and go home.
I have access to my Facebook and Gmail accounts
What is it that you are using to access it?
Are You Feeling Unwell? Why go for a physical examination?
Japanese companies have a rule that medical checkups must be conducted once a year for the health of their employees.
What do you use to access Facebook and Gmail? Is it a browser?
I access them on Google
Google Chrome?
Yes . Dear .
I feel like I've succeeded in leading them on.
Then I can ascess https://dampedia.com/contact and send you the content of the email from there. We are waiting for you.
So, I double-checked again with the Google Analytics real-time report. As I thoughtAccess from Lagos, NigeriaIt is.
Miss Karim, you are not in Syria, are you?
Please be honest.
I'm going to go out on a limb and ask.
I do not understand it dearly. It is written in Japanese
I thought I didn't understand what you meant when you said "not in Syria," but I guess you meant you didn't understand what the Dampedia contact form said.
If you are using Google Chrome, you should be able to translate.
Where can I translate it from? I do not know what you are doing . Dear Miss Karim. Miss Karim. you are not in Syria, are you? Please be honest.
I can see that you are so upset that you accidentally copied and pasted my message.
I understand. Now, here are the Japanese words for the items on the website form in English. Name" is "name," "mail address" is "mail address," "subject" is "subject," and "message body" is "message body. Do you understand it now?
You did not answer my question ?
Why do you want me to send it from there? Send me your email address . If you want me to tell you what I wanted to talk to you about
I no longer know what they are saying. And then, perhaps sensing that I had finally been found out, I was blocked on Messenger and could no longer send messages from here.
...and it is quite long, but I have exposed almost the entire exchange. The conclusion is that this is due to a romance scam, as was the result of a Google image search.
Romance scams are, to quote Wikipedia.
Romance fraud (romance sagi) is a type of bank transfer scam in which a foreign partner, whom the victim has met mainly on an Internet social networking site, is deceived into believing that he or she is his or her lover or marriage partner, and then money is transferred to the victim. It is also called international romance scam, international love scam, or Nigerian scam. If money is sent, there is almost no way to get it back after the fact.
That is to say.
I had assumed it would be a scam anyway, so I did not suffer any damage, and I am rather playing with the idea that it will be a story for my article, but I think they will use that kind of trick, so those who are not familiar with it should be careful.
Incidentally, the image search also turned up the following site.
The domain "romancescamsnow" is "Romance Scams Now", which means "Romance Scams Now", and it seems to be a romance scam victim warning site. It is on this very page that I found the photo sent to me by Karim.
In other words, if you are suspicious, the first step is to do an image search.
Then, report it to Facebook to prevent another victim. Below are the instructions for reporting from the iOS version of the Facebook app. Also, Facebook updates frequently, so these are the current methods as of December 2018.
From the Facebook user page, tap "Other" under the user icon.
A menu will appear at the bottom, tap "Send Feedback or Report this Profile".
However, I am concerned that there is no "fraud" in the reporting section, even though this is a romance scam, which is an international crime and a worldwide problem. However, in a broader sense, I think all of these accounts are false, so either "impersonating another person," "fake account," or "fake name" would be fine.
For the iOS version of the Messenger app, follow these instructions Open the same user information page.
Scroll down to the bottom and tap the "Report a Problem" item.
It is a mystery why the items are slightly different from Facebook, but I think "impersonating another person" or "other" would be acceptable here.
Then follow the instructions on the screen and report them to the authorities. The key will be whether or not Facebook can recognize the extent of the fraud, so the worst that can happen is that the account will not be suspended and it will remain in place.
There is also a problem: when I do a search on Facebook for the name "Karim Amir"...I get a crazy amount of people with the same name (and for some reason, they are all men). I don't think all of them are related to this scam, but I can't help but feel suspicious.
Anyway, beware of online crimes. Especially the men of the world, according to Wikipedia
In Malaysia, a Japanese man who was invited by a Filipino woman was held captive by a Nigerian fraud ring.
So, be especially careful and enjoy your Internets life.

I got a friend request on FB from a Syrian beauty. Probably the same person. Thanks for the info. I will be careful.

A few days ago, I received a FB friend request from someone named Doris Sandra, but I believe the woman in the photo is the same person. She also sent me a messenger pretending to be a Syrian refugee. It was a close call.

Thank you! Not to "change hands, change goods," but they do come in different people's names, so stay tuned!
Thank you. I will pay attention.
A friend of mine also got a friend request from this person (probably from my link) and approved it? I immediately alerted the person and he revoked the friend.
But I think the most pitiful person is the woman in this picture.
That's right. It's not nice to have your money used for crimes you don't know about....
Nice to meet you! I am just now communicating with a romance scam partner in my spare time. The other person is a doctor and seems to be a widow in a camp in Syria. I'm getting tired of it, so I've been dropping a lot of dirty jokes, but he's trying to match me. She doesn't back down even when I say quite obscene words...in fact, she seems to be in love with me. In my case, she was not a pretty face, but a Chinese or Korean face.
Nice to meet you too! Romance scammers also use those tricks, so let's play those tricks too and cut down the time they spend on scamming us. As a result, they can't make any money, and they end up in the red.
I was looking up romance scammers, and there is a website that makes fun of Nigerian romance scammers who pretend to be fooled by Nigerian romance scammers and say they will trust you if you send them a picture of a raw fish on your head with a glass of milk in your hand and they take stupid, dumb pictures and show the world the pictures. Some of them have scammers make carved wooden PC keyboards, and people who pretend to be fooled compete with each other by having scammers make highly artistic works of art. ...Nigerians...even though they are scammers, they seem to be ignorant and stupid (laugh).
My honest impression is that the Nigerian scammers have a pure side and have turned to evil because of the wrong means to survive.
I didn't know there was such a site. lol
In a way, it's like a deception, but it's a little complicated to think that a crime is a crime but with that aspect...
Some of them make women dress up in a specified way, take indecent pictures, and send the pictures to them. At least, if the scammer is a man, he makes a woman do it, so the woman is just a victim........
Just because they are foreign criminals doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. You could just play moderately and let them waste their time (the best you can do is to report them to the authorities).
I recently received a similar friend request. The name is Amira davis but the photo is the same person. All communication was done in English.
To simplify the content, let's say
I was in a Syrian refugee camp and both my parents died. My fiancé was also killed in the fighting. My relatives are also unreachable due to the chaos. My father converted his assets to cash before the civil war started and deposited them in a Turkish Air Assets Depository? He was killed in the fighting. My father was a military man. I would like to transfer the funds to your bank book in advance for a safe trip to Japan. He wants to send a Turkish Airlines agent to Japan with a bag full of cash for this purpose. I asked him if his bag would be checked at the airports in Turkey and Japan. He says not to worry about it.
Why don't you go to Turkey yourself? He says he doesn't have any money on hand at the moment. I said, "Why don't you borrow money from your friends around you? They all say they are out of work and have no money. I said, "Why don't you ask them to send you a bag from Turkey? But they told me that they are not supposed to send bags to war zones. He also said that after he gave them the bag in Japan, he would like them to deposit the money into his bank book and send a part of it to him. I said, "Why don't you ask the Turkish Airlines staff? I said, "Why don't you ask the Turkish Airlines staff?
It is strange to entrust a large sum of money to a Japanese stranger. Perhaps he will say, "I need some cash on the way. I was convinced after reading Mr. Shin Kamima's story. I trusted them until the middle of the process. They (she?) are planning a scam in Nigeria. are planning a scam in Nigeria. There has been a "letter from Nigeria" for a long time. They are getting more and more sophisticated. I have now blocked both messenger and webmail.

You sent the same picture of your face and changed your name. I even feel sorry for the person whose photo has been used.
The best thing to do is to ignore it, since it is clearly a scam, but I am glad I noticed it on the way. I am glad I caught on to it on the way, but I have to be careful on a daily basis.
I had never heard of the term "letter from Nigeria," but I guess it has been a rather common tactic for a long time. I guess poverty is the reason why they use this kind of tactics, but I feel like I have seen the darkness of the world.
Let's keep it up!
The friend who came to me applied, and although her picture was different, she still called herself Amira Davis.
The scam is a little more elaborate than just asking for money, and asks for the $550,000 left by his father to be deposited in your account.
A person claiming to be a bank manager said, "I sent you money, but you need to purchase software to complete the transfer. I need $2,200 for the purchase."
For regular international money transfers, there may be a sending fee, receiving fee, and conversion fee, all of which are deducted by the bank before the money arrives here.
I have never heard of any software for cracking passwords.
I enjoyed the emails for a while. I knew from the beginning that it was a scam.
Thank you for your comment.
It seems that there are different types of scams!
The red heron is said to deceive and defraud through love and romance, while the white heron is said to bilk people out of their money.
If you know it's a scam, you can play with them to the extent that you don't become a scam, and finally block them and throw them away (laugh).

More recently, profiles with photos of model-level women on the continent have been used.
I received a DM on FB.
If you deal with them a little bit.

As a side note, this site is conscientious because there are no annoying ads that pop up and bang. I respect the people who make these sites.
Thanks for the reply too!
Scammers are still rife with different hands and different products (or maybe they have changed their names and faces?). (Or perhaps they have changed their names and faces?) Scammers are still rife.
The police will not take action unless there is actual damage, so all we can do is play with them, but they are still a nuisance and I hope they will become extinct.
I really want to advertise as much as possible to earn money, but I'm having a hard time doing so.
