On this day, I decided to visit the Yahagigawa River dam for the first time in a while, as well as to inspect the Meiji Water Headworks, which had caused a leakage accident. I heard people say in some places that Kamiuma was a nuisance and an onlooker, but there are some things that are not conveyed in news reports, and there are many things to learn on site, as well as many more people than me who came to see the accident with the spirit of an onlooker. However, I think it was a good thing that these onlookers became interested in infrastructure facilities, for better or worse.

This year, 112 dams over 15 meters were visited, including duplicates. Of the 112, exactly half (56) were Maruyama Dams. The number of new dams visited was 13, compared to 7 last year. We also managed to increase the number of dams visited from 7 last year.
I'm sure the Maruyama Dam will be the most visited next year, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what new dams await!
