stone monument
The Ooshirakawa Dam is reached from the Mimogai Dam using Prefectural Road 451, which should be easy to find since it is the end of Prefectural Road 451. However, the prefectural road is narrow, so you need to be a little careful when passing through. The road is also closed in winter. The Ooshirakawa Hot Springs are located in front of the dam embankment and are crowded with many leisure travelers. The dam is located behind the hot spring.
levee
It is difficult to tell where the embankment begins and ends. It was difficult to find the right angle to take pictures.

Parking lot | ○ | Autumn is just around the corner! It was a fantastic atmosphere with cotton wool flying in the air. However, it was very far from the prefectural road, so we drove on and on. I thought it must be an amazing dam because it was so far away, but when I arrived, I was astonished. It was the most unlike an embankment I had ever seen. I had no idea that the place where I parked my car was an embankment. The embankment is 95 meters high, but I don't think it is that high. I think it is probably due to sedimentation. |
