This article can be read in about 2 minutes to read.

The three Azusa River brothers (Azumi three brothers?) The dam is the youngest of the three Azusa River brothers (Azumi three brothers?).

Location: Asozawa and Kamisawa, Asozawa, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture

Sudden New Year's Day 2003dam tourThe third dam in the "Inakaku Dam" series is the Inakaku Dam. When I first saw the name of this dam, I read it completely differently. I guess there must be other people like that besides me. It is listed as one of the difficult-to-read dam names by the Japan Dam Association. You can easily reach Inakaku Dam from Matsumoto City by taking National Route 158 westward.

This dam is the youngest of the three Azusa River brothers (or the three Azumi brothers?). The youngest of the three Azusa River brothers (Azumi three brothers?). The youngest is selfish, and its embankment is off-limits. The Inakaku Dam is the lower dam, while the Mizudono and Nagawa Watershed Dams upstream are used for pumped-storage power generation. However, it is the oldest dam in terms of year of completion.

There are 5 roller gates, and is that a Howell bunker valve visible in the lower part of the photo?

Other facilities/observations

I heard that Route 158 is so jammed during the season, but it was not crowded at all in the middle of winter, especially on New Year's Day. On the way from Matsumoto to Route 158, we stopped at a soba noodle shop (I forgot the name and location of the store...I think it was in Hada-machi because the Matsumoto Electric Railway was visible nearby), and I remember it was very simple and delicious.
