The dam is located near Kakeyu Hot Spring.
Location: Aza Aratosawa, Shikkyoyu Onsen, Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture
View of the levee from the waterfront plaza
The Uchimura Dam is located near Kakeyu Onsen, which is famous for its therapeutic baths, and where we stayed when we covered the Kurobe Dam. Perhaps it was because the weather was not so good, but I got the impression that it was very dark.
To reach the Uchimura Dam, drive north on Route 143 from Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, then east on Route 254, past the toll booth using the toll-free Misayama Tunnel (500 \), and turn left at the first sign. To get to the dam, do not turn left at the first sign. From the Sanzaiyama Tunnel, you will have to go east quite a bit and then turn left to go back west.
View of the levee (downstream side) from the right bank
There is a water playground downstream. The water looks clean, but for some reason it smells a little bad, so I don't think I would want to go in and play in the water. The map shows that it is surrounded by mountains, so I thought it must be a very scenic place, but I was a little put off.
View of the dam lake from the right bank
It is black. Even though it is an overcast day, what is this blackness of the dam lake! It is like that. The dam lake is named "Lake Shikanalu," which is a high-colored (dead) name.
View of the spillway from the dike
It appears to be a discharge from a conduit gate, but from the front it appears to be a natural overflow. It is a mystery...
View downstream from the levee
Turn your gaze further downstream. The Shikyoyu hot spring resort is located in the valley of the mountain on the other side.
View of the top edge from the left bank
The administration office can be seen over there. Further up on the right is the bridge leading to the Sanzaiyama Tunnel Road.

Other facilities/observations
Shikyoyu Onsen was a very atmospheric place, but not really for young people. But it is good for those who like old things. Goudai Bridge, Monjudo, Yakushido, etc. are all lit up at night, creating a nice atmosphere. There is a waterway where you can see fireflies around the end of June. I'm not talking about the dam, but about sightseeing information.
