Date of interview: 2005/06/17
Location: Minakami Town, Tone-gun, Gunma Prefecture
View of the embankment from the right bank
The entire embankment is overflowing, and because of the natural overflow, when the river is full, it creates a spectacular "sudare discharge" as shown here.
View of the dam lake from the right bank
It is a little muddy, but that may be because of the bad weather.
View of the overflow from the downstream side of the right bank
There are not many good shooting points and it is a bit difficult to take pictures. Moreover, there are wires in the way. This photo was also taken between the pillars of a rock shed (or is it a snowshed?). This picture was also taken from between the pillars of the rock shed (or is it a snow shed?). Also, the dam is located along the road, but you may miss it if you are not paying attention.
View of the water intake from the right bank
The Kamimaki Power Plant is located 10 km downstream from the Komori Dam, and this is also its water intake. The entrance to the water conduction tunnel can be seen at the far right.

Incidentally, the levee can be seen from the other side of the river.

Other facilities/observations
We were lucky to be able to see the discharge, as there are days when the water volume is low and the water is not discharged. We were lucky to see the discharge of the water, because high dams appear one after another as you head upstream on the Tone River from the base of this dam,
We recommend aiming further upstream.
