Japan Society of Dam EngineeringA public symposium "with Dam☆Night '11" will be held on October 31, 2011. This will be the second year for the symposium, following last year's well-received event. Although the word "symposium" may give a formal image, this is an event where not only dam experts but also representatives of dam enthusiasts will speak passionately to discover and communicate the appeal of dams.
The program is titled "The Fundamental Power of Dams," and this year's event will be held at a time when energy issues are being discussed in the wake of the earthquake disaster, so the appeal of dams as clean energy is also likely to be conveyed.
