The history of the Seta River, including Lake Biwa, is the history of flood control. It has a very fukuzatsu element, and I cannot talk about it eloquently.
Night Sparrow's website, "Suzume's Social Studies BookIn the "Seta River" section, the Seta River is summarized in a very easy-to-understand manner. So,this way (direction close to the speaker or towards the speaker)You may want to refer to the following. I would like to re-cover it when I have more time to put it all together.
Ishiyama Temple, which is associated with Murasaki Shikibu, is located near the Seta River weir, and further upstream, the remains of the old Seta River weir (Nango weir) can be seen on the left bank.

Other facilities/observations
This is a wash-weir with a lot of attractions. When I hear the word "wash-weir," I think of the wash-weir on the Shonai River in Nagoya, but I had no idea that there were such magnificent wash-weirs in the world. Although it is not a dam, it is an interesting place to visit.
