This is an all-color paperback edition of the photo book "Dam," which was released in 2007 and triggered a boom in gigantic structures. The book features more than 40 dams, mainly in eastern Japan. The addition of photographs taken by Masaki Hagiwara after the book was published, including those of dams in Hokkaido and Tohoku, further doubles the power and appeal of the dams. Author Profile

Born in Tokyo, 1974. He is the author of the website "The Dam", which records dams in detail based on photographs and data.dam-siteHe is the administrator of the "Kikuchi Dam" in Tokyo, Japan. He first became interested in dams when his father took him to the Okochi Dam (Tokyo) as a child, and in 1998, he began photographing dams in earnest when he encountered the Miyagase Dam (Kanagawa Prefecture). Since then, he has continued his "dam tour" as his life's work. He has visited more than 350 dams to date.
