View of the dam lake from the top
The 9th Dam Web Ring Off-line Meeting "Yashio, Snake-tail Riverdam tourThe Snake River Dam, which came after the Yashio Dam, is located in the northern part of the country. It is difficult to read "Sabi-gawa". If I forget, I might say "Hebiogawa".
Since this is the lower pond of the Shiobara Power Plant, its elevation is lower than that of the Yashio Dam, but the atmosphere does not yet feel like spring. However, there is a bit of haze. It looks like it was taken with a cell phone camera.
View of the right bank from the center of the top edge
The Snake River Dam is a gravity-fed concrete dam, but it was curious that it was somewhat curved.
View of the switchyard from the top
Open and closed stations are important facilities for power generation, which is why they are off-limits to the public.
View of the flow-conducting section and force-reducing structure from the center of the top edge
You have clean concrete. The area around the abatement works is also nicely maintained.
View of the crest gate (back) and selective water intake system (front)
Crest has two roller gates (in the back of the photo) and another selective intake facility (in the front of the photo). Can you see the size of the gates compared to a person?
The specifications of the selective intake facilities are as follows
Type: Mechanical cylinder gate
Aperture: Φ0.90m to Φ1.70m
Lift: 48.85 m
Number of gates: 1
Opening/closing speed: 0.3m/min
Intake gate weight: 30.5t
Date of production: December 1992
Production: Joint venture between Nikken Special Industry and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
View of the dam name monument and dam lake
It is a magnificent dam name monument. The plantings are beautifully maintained and look as if they are for people to see.
view of the drinking and spitting port
This is a drinking water outlet for power generation and is connected to the Yashio Dam through the Shiobara Power Plant.
View of the top edge from the right bank
From here, the front (right bank (shore)) You can clearly see that it is only curved.
View of the levee downstream from the right bank
The whole embankment is too big to fit in.... The camera at this time was a Panasonic FZ-30, but I would have loved to shoot again with a digital camera and a wide-angle lens.
View of the dam lake from the right bank
The water level at this time was quite low and did not reach the crest gate at all.
View of the river maintenance discharge from the right bank
Downstream where the river is being maintained and discharged.
View of Crest Gate
A very simple gate.
Model: Steel roller gate
Net diameter x door height: 8.00m x 10.00m
Number of gates: 2
Opening/closing speed: 0.3m/min
Door weight: 52.0t/portal
Date of production: December 1992
Production: Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co.
Workers working on the left bank footing
They are working on something in the footings.
View of the top edge from the left bank
It is a bit curved, so you can't see the other side of the river.
Incidentally, the pink plant above the slope on the opposite bank is a Yashio azalea, which is native to this area.
View of the levee downstream from the left bank
It is slender and cool. I wanted to see it from downstream, but unfortunately, I didn't have enough time and had to cut it off.
View of the embankment and the outlet on the lake side of the dam from the right bank
A shot from the dam lake side. Attached to the center of the dike is a selective water intake facility on the left andcrest gateThe leftmost structure is a drinking fountain for power generation. The structure on the far left is a drinking spout for power generation.
And this tour is finally coming to an end.
Somehow, Nishikigoi...
Just before returning to the bus I boarded, I looked at the dam lake and saw Nishikigoi carp... for some reason.
But still, why?
Was it released by the management office?
I left Tochigi with these thoughts in my mind....
