The dam that goes and the dam that comes 2019-2020

Dam log
This article can be read in about 35 minutes to read.

The first year of the 2021 calendar year will soon come to an end. Last year, I visited dams less frequently due to a cervical disc herniation, but let's take a look back at the dams I visited in 2019.

2019/1/4

The first dam of the new year was the Kojiya Dam, the first dam tour in Hyogo. Healthyearth damThe following is a list of the most common problems with the

Next is the Mouri Dam, which is the saddle dam of the Kojiya Dam. Still, I think there are many saddle dams in western Japan.

And Tokuhata Dam, the saddle dam of the Kojiya Dam.

The gradual reduction type levee conduit wall is very impressive.lengthening a valleystreaked humpback salmonDam.

And the Ota No. 1 to No. 5 dams, which are the most important dams on this dam tour. Fukuoka Prefecture is home to a number of dams with the same shape and different sound.lengthening a valleySt. Elmo's sea bream (Pagellus bogaraveo)I have mixed memories of the "dam," and from there I learned that there was a dam with several interconnected embankments in the upper pond, which is why for a long time it was one of the first dams I wanted to visit someday.

Ikuno Dam, visited after enjoying the Ikuno Ginzan Silver Mine.

Kurokawa Dam is located near Kurokawa Onsen, a hidden hot spring in Hyogo.

This was the last dam on our dam tour at this time. Tadaraki Dam. I would have liked to have enjoyed more of the unusual asphalt facings.

2019/1/20

The Saburi Dam was chosen to appear in the TV program "Drain the Pond" while inspecting my car.

I eat there every time I come to Saburi Dam.dam curryThe following is a list of the most common problems with the

2019/2/24

Participated in a tour of the Shitara Dam's diversion works. The construction must have progressed a lot since then.

As souvenirs, we also received a stone from the diversion works and a dam card commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Emperor's enthronement.

We visited the Shin Toyone Dam to receive a dam card commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Emperor's reign. In fact, it was my first visit in exactly six years.

I had dam curry at Toyone Green Port Miyajima, the first roadside station I visited since its renovation.

This is also the Hiraoka Dam after a long absence. It has been 8 years since I last visited here.

Iwakura Dam. I would like to see it properly from downstream, but I am not sure if it is allowed to enter the dam, and it is always muddy, so I have to give up.

I also met Momosuke Fukuzawa.

The last stop of the day was the Kosato River Dam.

2019/3/3

Visited the town of Yaotsu to get a commemorative stone for the Shin-Maruyama Dam diversion works.

While acquiring a commemorative stone from the Shin-Maruyama Dam diversion works, we will visit nearby dams to receive a dam card commemorating the 30th anniversary of His Majesty the Emperor's reign.

The second unit is the Kosato River Dam.

The third unit is the Agigawa Dam.

The fourth unit is the Yahagi Dam.

The fifth and final dam of the day was the Yahagi No. 2 Dam.

2019/3/21

Visiting the Kawachi River Dam, which is undergoing inspection and discharge as the surcharge level is reached. I think it is really divine that you guessed it on your day off.

And by the way, the Ishida River Dam.

2019/4/6

We first visited the Kawashita River Dam in conjunction with the Chikari Dam event.

And then the main attraction, the Chikari Dam. The event allowed us to enter places that are normally off-limits, such as the crest and the left bank observation deck.

After that, we went to the Aono Dam. The downstream side of the dam, which is only open during events in mid-summer, happened to be open for the walk rally on that day, and we were lucky enough to be able to see it. A certain enthusiast said, "I wouldn't want to visit that dam in midsummer, even if I could see the downstream side.

Then we went to Ichiko Dam, where a cross discharge was just taking place. Cherry blossoms were also blooming beautifully.

2019/4/20

Toured the Maruyama Dam with members of the Boundary Association. We also watched a documentary film of the construction with everyone.

This was my personal first and last soramame's Maruyama New Maruyama Dam collaboration dam curry.

We then went to the Iwaya Dam while admiring the Kamiaso Dam. We were allowed to visit places that are normally inaccessible.

2019/4/30

We will go up the Ibigawa River lightly while visiting my wife's parents' house. Dam curry for lunch.

After lunch, we went to Yokoyama Dam.

And the Tokuyama Dam.

2019/5/2

Gongen No. 1 Dam during a family trip. The solar panels are a personal disappointment.

We visited the third dam, which is a saddle dam of the Gongen No. 1 Dam. After all, there are many saddle dams in western Japan.

2019/5/3

On the second day of the family trip, we visited the Sakurayama Dam, which is not even listed in the dam handbook.

2019/6/23

Visited the Kawachigawa Dam where the preview will be held.

2019/7/6

After setting up the Dam Mania exhibition, we had dam curry.

Visited Sagami Dam for an after-dinner walk.

Then visited Yamaguchi Dam (Saitama) on the way to the place of stay.

2019/7/7

The next day, I invited a former colleague of mine who lives in Tokyo to join me on a dam tour, and we first went to Shiromaru Dam. The conditions were bad due to rain, but it was a good memory.

Kogochi Dam.

I also had dam curry at the Ogawachi Dam.

Fukashiro Dam. After that, I went to the dam mania exhibition and did the evil trick to drag myself further into the path of mania... (laughs)

2019/7/25

Since we had to take down the Dam Mania exhibition in the evening, we toured the dams around the venue before then. First, the Numamoto Dam.

Shiroyama Dam was active during Typhoon No. 19.

And then there is the Honzawa Dam.

At the Sagami Lake Exchange Center, it's dam curry after all.

2019/7/28

Observing the inspection and discharge of the Iwaya Dam at the Iwaya Dam Rockfill Dam Festival. I have the image that in eastern Japan, inspection and discharge of the dam is often carried out and events are held accordingly, but I hope such events will spread more in western Japan as well.

Today I went to the Rockfill Dam Fest held at the Iwaya Dam. I was not able to go to the last inspection and discharge, so I was very happy to see it this time. Arrived at the temporary parking lot a little after 9:00. Took a shuttle bus to the main site. Immediately took a wagon shuttle to the top end, took a spot an hour in advance, and watched the first discharge from the gate pier. Before the second one, we moved to the main venue to purchase some Hoba Sushi and other items and participate in the raffle. We received valuable treasures, panels, and badges from the days of the public corporation. The two women in line in front of us gave three raffle tickets to my son, thank you very much. The second visit was at the ledge wall on the left bank. It was very hot in the afternoon. We took a break at the main site and visited the third time from the bridge downstream. I was troubled by bees flying all over the place, but it was good to see the whole dam. Also, it was nice that Chuden's discharge siren was also blowing after OIST. According to the official announcement, 415 people visited the event, and it was impressive that there were not only enthusiasts but also local people, people who happened to be sightseers, and many other kinds of visitors. Since such events are a bit scarce in the Tokai region, I hope these events will be held in the future. # Iwaya Dam # Iwaya Dam Fest 2019 # dam # discharge # discharge note # rockfill dam

The next day, we visited Hamada No. 2 Dam. There is a saddle dam here, too.

Then there was the Hamada Dam. We were able to enjoy the area because construction was closed for the Obon vacation.

2019/9/18

On the way to the Yamba Dam, we stopped at the Sugadaira Dam.

Kanazawa Dam.

The Kajiyazawa Dam, which we mistakenly thought we could not enter and did not see the dike.

Lunch was Yamba Dam Curry.

And the main mission of the day, the Yamba Dam.

On this day, we went to Shikoku. First, the Ikeda Dam, which we tried to go through but could not.

We stayed overnight in Kochi and went to Kagami Dam the next morning.

The Omorigawa Dam, also known as the "difficult spot.

Nagasawa Dam. It was difficult to choose a spot to take pictures...

Ohashi Dam. It was a lovely dam.

Entering Ehime Prefecture, the Kurose Dam.

Shikamori Dam. I had been curious about this dam since Hisa-san took pictures of it in his photo book "To Those Who Love Dams.

Besshi Dam, which is off-limits and quite severe. After this, we visited Tomigo Dam in the dark. Also, the night view of Shikokuchuo City was beautiful after passing through the Houou Tunnel. I regretted a little that I should have taken a picture.

When I went through Route 192 to return home from Ehime by taking the lower road as much as possible except for bridges and the Hanshin Expressway, I stopped by the Ikeda Dam.

The Yahagi Dam was the next destination of the 12th Gathering with Dam Lovers. We were allowed to walk all over the catwalk, even though we were not allowed to visit so much during the TV coverage. →.Click here for a report on the 12th Gathering with Dam Lovers.

The Yahagi No. 2 Dam, where we stopped on our way home.

2019/12/6

Opened an online store, which was my long-cherished dream. (By the way, it is not profitable at all. We are in the red!)

summary

Finally, in 2019, we visited 76 weirs and duplicates, including weirs and duplicates; it looks like 2017 was 60 and 2018 was 65, so...what? That's an increase. It seems we toured more than we thought we would.

I am amazed at how many more dams you visit every week than I do, and I am looking forward to seeing what kind of dams I will encounter next year.

We wish you all a happy new year. We look forward to your continued patronage of Dampedia and our official store in the coming year as well.
