The Japan Dam Awards 2015 were held at Culture Culture in Odaiba, Tokyo, on Saturday, December 26, and the awards for discharge, low water management, event, flood control, and dam grand prix were announced.
This time, the morning information program "Sukkiri! a morning information program affiliated with Nippon Television Network Corporation, and the program's weathercaster, Mr. Tomigo Fujitomi, also attended the event. The event will be broadcast on the program.
Let's start with the nominations for each award.
■Discharge Award

Event Award (Which dam held an event that delighted dam fans!): Shichigajuku Dam (Miyagi Prefecture, Japan)
The award was likely due to a special tour that was powered up after listening to requests from enthusiasts.
Flood Control Award (The dam that fought the most impressive battle against heavy rain!)Shichikawa Dam (Wakayama Prefecture)
Flood control by typhoons seemed impressive.
2015 Dam Awards (What dam left the greatest impression on people's memories this year!) : Kinugawa 4 Dam (Tochigi Prefecture)
This year, the news of the Kinugawa River levee break was sensationalized and caused so much damage, but the fact that the damage was kept to a minimum due to the last-ditch fight by the dam upstream was very impressive.
