The following is a report from the Nunome Dam tour held in conjunction with the Nunome Lakeside Cycle Festa.
Please also refer to the article on Nunome Dam, which was first published.
Nunome Lakeside Cycle Festa
Lots of road bikes and cyclists! Nunome Dam has become a venue for bicycle events as it was at one time the course of the Tour of Japan. I went there because a dam tour was to be held in conjunction with the Cycle Festa.
For some reason, Xbox360 games...
監査廊の入口付近にはなぜかXbox360が設置され、遊べるようになっていました。Kinectのゲームでしたがタイトルまでは忘れました。子ども的には反応はイマイチでした😓
staircase in an audit corridor
After registering, a person from the Water Resources Agency will lead the way.
corridor connecting an annex to a pond-side building (in traditional palatial-style architecture)
It is a beautiful audit corridor.
staircase in an audit corridor
Another staircase. Perhaps because of its proximity to the dam lake, this one is damp.
Water pipelines from selective intake facilities
As you proceed down the audit corridor, you suddenly see this black object. It is a water pipeline from a selective intake facility.
Water conduit explanation panel
The staff member of the Organization points to the place.
Location of water pipelines
Here it is. (In the middle of the picture)
Main gate and main reserve gate
This will be the main gate from the selective intake facility and the main reserve gate (at the top of the This image is at the end of the black conduit pipe we saw earlier. It is depicted on the right in the photo above. Incidentally, the main pipe gate has a 1,100 mm jet-flow gate.
Branch pipe gate and branch pipe spare gate
This is a branch pipe gate and a branch pipe spare gate. 400 mm jet flow gate.
hydroelectric power generation facility
There is a hydroelectric power generation facility in the immediate vicinity. The type of turbine is a horizontal-shaft single-wheel, single-flow volute Francis turbine, and it is said to generate up to 990KW of electricity.
Administrative hydropower results
The electricity generated here is used to manage the Nunome Dam, and the surplus power is sold, but it seems that most of the electricity is sold.
Explanatory panel for discharge facilities
This is the discharge facility of the Nunome Dam. Unfortunately, the gates of the permanent flood discharge and the selective water intake system were not included in the tour, but I would like to see them if I have a chance.
View of the levee from the Nunome Power Plant on the downstream side of the left bank
Once inside the dike, you will go outside. This area is usually inaccessible, so it is a valuable agle.
Sub-dam for reduction works
This is a sub-dam for force reduction works. The Nunome Dam has a 14.5-meter-high dam upstream for sand storage, which also calls itself a sub-dam, which complicates things, but this is a sub-dam for force reduction.
Outlet for hydropower generation
This is a view of freshly worked water coming out of the discharge outlet for hydropower generation.
View of the levee from the downstream side of the left bank
I moved a little downstream to take a picture of the levee, but from here the whole picture doesn't come in.
Back to the audit corridor again.
Back to the audit corridor again.
plumb line
He took us on a tour of the Plumbline, a device that measures the deflection of the embankment.
View of the dam lake from the top
After that, we will go out to the skyline to finish the tour. Nunome Dam holds events during the "Friendship with Forest and Lake Season," etc. We encourage you to participate in these events when the timing is right.
